Neh Neerh Foundation is conceptualized to support an endeavour by few social workers. The endeavour is to transform socially, financially deprived bright children of Indian society into esteemed individuals.
Neh Neerh foundation shall identify such bright and ingenious children from underprivileged households and provide them boarding school facility. The campus in which these children shall live will be named as ‘Neh Neerh’ which means ‘House of Affection’.
Guided by its name, children in Neh Neerh campus will be raised in an affectionate environment and bestowed with quality academic and spiritual education. Eligibility criteria for admission will be a child of age (bet. 10- 12 years) and someone who has passed class 5th (in formal or informal setup). Once admitted in Neh-Neerh, a student will be provided education in reputed schools (from class 6th till 12th). After passing class 12th, such students will be provided opportunities to complete their Graduation/Bachelors education and / or prepare for other suitable competitive exams, from reputed establishments.
Our effort will be to support such child successfully make his/her career in the field of education, health, administration, social work so that he/she could further support the other needy and deprived children of the society.
It has been more than 70 years that India has reclaimed its independence but still there is big section of Indian society which is devoid of fundamental social, financial, educational needs. Swami Vivekanand had famously referred them as ‘Daridra Narayan’ whereby propagating that service to the poor is equivalent in importance and virtue to service to God. While we witness rapid pace of development of Indian metropolitans, we could also find this cross section of Indian society – with no other option but to spend their life in the slums, unplanned filthy neighbourhoods, along railway tracks etc. With both parents (in majority of cases) working to make their ends meet, children are mostly raised with negligence and with no scope for formal education. Backward neighbourhood and slums provide no platform for academic or spiritual education and thus countless deserving children are almost left with no choice but to pursue work as child labourers, starting from their early formative years. Unfortunately, at a tender age they are also vulnerable to falling in trap of anti-social, anti-national elements, who take advantage of deprived ecosystem full of miseries, in which these children are raised.
Important to note that for India to reattain the status of ‘Vishwa Guru’, it is imperative that each and every son/ daughter of Bharat Mata gets equal opportunities for social, financial, educational upliftment. Above mentioned aspirations shall remain unfulfilled if such children of Bharat Mata would lack necessary education and shall remain prone to evil anti-social / anti – national elements.
Immediate need of hour is to create a support ecosystem for group of such deprived yet deserving children for providing them quality academic and spiritual education. It is critical that we safeguard these children from evils of the society and let them embrace the righteous values of human life. Also, the bright and ingenious students of this group be provided with right opportunities for higher education. We are confident that with access to this support framework , these children will transform into responsible and accountable citizens of India who would not only serve the nation but also contribute towards upliftment of underprivileged.
